t;"),

~-~-~)

Table No. 7 shows results of the study. Column No. 2 of the

Table indicates the recorded flow of the Rio Grande at Buckman. Column

No. 3 represents the recorded flow at Alamosa. Column No. 4 represents

what the flow at Buckman would have been had the river at Ala.mosa been

dry. Column No. 5 indicates the estLmated drainage return to the stream

assuming the Sump Drain to be constructed, and assuming a total of

100,000 acre feet to be returned to the stream from all sources above

the mouth of the Sump Drain and above Alamosa. Column No. 6 represents

the resulting flow at Buckman assuming the river to be dry at Alamosa,

except for return flow. Column N9. 7 represents the esti1nated spill

from the proposed reservoirs on the main Rio Grande in Colorado.

Column No. 8 represents the estimated flow at Buckman under the proposed

development in the San Luis Valley. Column No. 9 represents the estLmated

flow at Buckman underconditions of 1927 taken from ColUll1Il No. ;5 of Table

No. 46 of the Report on the Middle Rio Grande .t'roject. It may be noted

by an inspection of the values in Columns Nos. 8 and 9 that in general

the river at Buckman during the months of July, August and September

would be improved by the proposed Colorado development on the main stem of the

Rio Grande. This would improve the water supply for the Middle Rio Grande,

as indicated in Table No.9, which shows the operation of the El Vado

Reservoir as estimated in the Middle Rio Grande Report and the operation

of the reservoir as it would be if the water supply at Bucbnan were as

indicated in ColUll1Il No. 8 of Table No.7. Table No. 46 of the laddIe Rio

Grande Report indicates that the Middle Rio Grande would have sustained C~.

shortages in the years 1900, 1902 and 1904. The indicated shortages

~. - "
.,.,
i.J..J

-28_
