<br />The Major construction activities of the
<br />Upper Colorado Regional office for fiscal
<br />year 1979 were in the Bonneville Unit and
<br />Jensen Unit of fhe Central Utah Project;
<br />the Lyman Project, Utah.Wyoming; and the
<br />Dallas Creek Project, Colorado.
<br />
<br />During the fiscal year, work continued on
<br />the Red Fleet Dam, Jensen Unit, Central
<br />Utah Project, topping out the main dam
<br />embankment by the end of the fiscal year.
<br />Embankment next to the spillway will be
<br />completed when remaining spillway con.
<br />crete has been placed. The work was 94
<br />percent completed at the year's end,
<br />based on new total contract cost.
<br />
<br />On the Bonneville Unit, work continued on
<br />Vat Tunnel, with a total of 32,043 feet
<br />excavated for 74 percent complete at
<br />year's end. Work continued on the 8.mile-
<br />long Stillwater Tunnel until August 31,
<br />1979, when the contract was terminated at
<br />the convenience of the Government due to
<br />the inability of the tunneling method to
<br />complete the work. Work on the Alpine
<br />Aqueduct Section 1, Jordan Aqueduct
<br />System, Bonneville Unit, Central Utah Proj-
<br />ect, continued with completion expected
<br />in Oecember 1979. Total contract earnings
<br />for the fiscal year were $2,863,633.

<br />Stillwater Tunnel, Bonneville Unit
<br />
<br />Placement of riprap, Soldier Creek Dam,
<br />Bonneville Unit, Central Utah Project was
<br />completed in August 1979 with contract
<br />earnings of $1,188,429.
<br />
<br />In April of 1979 an $11,763,892 contract
<br />was awarded for the construction of Vat
<br />Diversion Dam and West Fork Pipeline,
<br />Bonneville Unit, Central Utah Project. By
<br />
<br />
<br />Slateline Dam, Lyman Project
<br />
<br />year's end, 2,189 feet of 78" concrete pipe
<br />had been installed completing 6.1 percent
<br />of the contract.
<br />
<br />Work continued on the Strawberry and
<br />Currant Creek Recreation Roads, Bonne-
<br />ville Unit, Central Utah Project (contract
<br />value $4,551,318), with 49 percent of the
<br />work completed by the end of the year.
