'!If <br /> <br />Coli bran Job Corps personnel <br /> <br />Job Corps Civilian Conservation Centers <br /> <br />Water and Power sponsors Job Corps <br />Centers at Weber Basin (Ogden), Utah, and <br />Collbran, Colo. Weber Basin has an assigned <br />strength of 224 corpsmen, and Collbran's <br />assigned corpsmen strength is 200. 80th <br />Centers exceeded Department of Labor <br />national goals during fiscal year 1979 for high <br />corpsmen completion rates and low termi- <br />nation rates. The Centers offer construction <br />trades training and work closely with the <br />trade unions. <br /> <br />Typical trade offerings include brick masonry, <br />heavy equipment operation, heavy equipment <br />maintenance and repair, painting, carpentry, <br />cement masonry, welding, building mainte- <br />nance (electrical, plumbing, custodial), <br />warehousing, and culinary arts. The combined <br />appraised value of the work programs was <br />$1,168,700 during tiscal year 1979. To date, <br />the accummulated value of the work accom- <br />plished since fiscal year 1966 totals <br />$11,326,900. <br /> <br />':I if; <br /> <br /> <br />Youth Conservation Corps <br /> <br />Youth Conservation Corps <br /> <br />During fiscal year 1979, Water and Power <br />sponsored five camps encompassing a <br />total of 182 Youth Conservation Corps <br />enrollees. These summer camps were located <br />at Soldier Creek, Utah; Fontenelle, Wyo.; <br />Cortez, Colo.; Durango, Colo.; and Grand <br />Junction, Colo. The YCC camps accom- <br />plished conservation work projects having <br />an appraised value of $337,708. <br /> <br /> <br />Rainbow Trout catch <br /> <br />Young Adult Conservation Corps <br /> <br />Water and Power operates a 150 enrollee <br />camp at Lindon, Utah; the camp utilizes <br />a satellite concept to extend its work program <br />throughout the region. Fiscal year 1979 <br />marked the camp's first full year as a con- <br />struction-oriented facility. Shop programs in <br />carpentry, metals, paint and sign making, <br />and concrete were implemented. Six general <br />construction crews were established, includ- <br />ing crews in Grand Junction, Colo, and <br />Duchesne, Utah. Remodeling of the head- <br />quarter's facility at Lindon was completed <br />and most major equipment was received <br />and installed. <br /> <br />A successful open house and dedication of <br />the facility occurred in July 1979. The YACC <br />Center accomplished work having a total <br />appraised value of $1 ,393,389 during fiscal <br />year 1979. <br /> <br />13 <br />
