Mjnor construction work continued on the enlargement <br />and rehabilitatlOJ:! of existing laterals and structures and will extend <br />iJ:!to fiscal year! 1965 under a contract with the Florida Water Con- <br />servancy Distri~t. <br /> <br />HAM~OND PARTICIPATING PROJECT, N'EW MEXICO <br /> <br />The Hammopd proje~t, located in northwestern New Mexico, was <br />essentially completed in fiscal year 1963. The principal features of <br />the project consist of the Hammond diversion dam, the Hammond <br />pU1,llJ'!ng plant, the main canal,laterals, and permancnt operating <br />faCilIties. <br />The transfer,of the project to an operation and maintenance status <br />is dependent on cessation of subsidence on the main canal and other <br />factors whic~ ~re necessary to insure a ~ontinuous delivery of project <br />water. Addltlpnal work IS scheduled m fiscal year 1965 for mmor <br />construction add repairs to the main canal and laterals. The project <br />is beingoperat~d by the Bureau ,,;nd irrigation water is. being furnished <br />to the HammoI;1d Conservancy Dlstnct on a rental baSIS. <br /> <br />LYMAN! PARTICIPATING PROJECT, UTAH AND WYOMING <br /> <br />Funds were ~ppropriated in fiscal year 1964 to begin construction of <br />the Lyman project, the second participating project to be undertaken <br />in Wyoming. [The project will Impound the water of a small tributary <br />of the GreenR,iver. Principal features of the project are the Meeks <br />Cabin Dam a$.d Reservoir, which will impound 33,000 acre-feet of <br />water on the Blacks Fork, and the China Meadows Dam and Reservoir <br />on the Smiths li'ork with a capacity of 13,000 acre-feet. <br />Project activity during the year consisted of collection of design <br />and specifications data! acquisition of land for the camp at Mountain <br />View, Wyo., and contmued negotiations that led to execution of a <br />repayment contract with the Bridger Valley Water Conservancy <br />DIstrict on April 8, 1964, <br /> <br />NAVAJO INDI+N IRl.UGATIO:W PARTICIPATING PROJECT, NEW MEXICO <br /> <br />ConstructiOl) work started on the Navajo Indian irrigation project <br />in San Juan <jJounty, N. Mex. The first segment of construction <br />underway incliIdes work on the headworks at the Navajo Reservoir <br />and a 2-mile t\lnnel section of the canal leading from the headworks, <br />The project Will utilize the existing Colorado River storage project- <br />Navajo unit reservoir for storage purposes. Water will be diverted <br />from the reservoir and carried approximately 150 miles to the Navajo <br />Indian lands. <br /> <br />BAN JUAN-CRAMA PARTICIPATING PROJECT, COLonADO AND NEW MEXICO <br /> <br />Construction was started on the San Juan-Chama project in south- <br />central Colbra~o and north-central New Mexico. Work began during <br />the fiscal year 'on the 12.8 mile Azote.. tunnel through the cont, inental <br />divide. Othe~ work consisted of collection of field data for desigJ:! <br />and construction specifications for the' other project features including <br />
