The completed <br />features consist of the Stliinaker Dam and Reservoir, Fort Thoruburgh <br />diversion dam, Steinaker feeder caual, Steinaker service canal and <br />laterals, and the Ashley Valley water system, which was built jointly <br />by the Bureau aud the Ashley Water Couservancy District. Project <br />drains may be constructed at a later date. <br />The multipmpose uni.t will f,!ruish a supplemental water supply <br />to 14,700 acres of partially Irngated lauds and 1,600 acre-feet of <br />supplemental w1tter 1tnnunIly for muuicipal use. <br /> <br />EMERY COUNTY PAHTICIPA'fING PROJECT, UTAH <br /> <br />The multipurpose Emery County project is located near Huutiug-- <br />ton and Cl1stle Dale, Emery County, east-central Utah. It will <br />furnish a supplementltl irrigatiou water supply to 18,004 acres of <br />partially irrig1tted land aud a full supply to 771 acres of uew land. <br />In "ddition, the project will provide fish and wildlife aud recreatiou <br />benefits. ' <br />Construction continued on the earthfill Joes Valley Dam, which was <br />estinlltted to be 45 percent completed at fiscal year end. Contracts <br />were awarded during the year for construction of the Cottonwood <br />Creek-Huutington Canahtnd the Swasey diversiou dam. <br />Clearing of the Joes Vltlley Reservoir area was completed as was <br />the' relocation of Utah State Highway 29 around the reservoir area. <br />Work continued on the relocation of Utah State Highways 10 and 236 <br />around the Huntiugtonll!orth Dam and Rese'rvoir. <br /> <br />FLORIDA PARTICIPATING PROJECT, COLORADO <br /> <br />Work continued on the Florida project located in the San Juan <br />Basin in southwest Color4do. The Lemon Dam was essentially com- <br />pleted during the fiscal ye(tr. The Florida farmers diversion dam, and <br />the eulargement of Florida farmers ditch and Florida Caual, were <br />completed iu fiscal year 1963. These irrigatiou facilities have been <br />operated by the Florida ;Water Couservancy District. The Lemon <br />Dam and Reservoir, still'iu a constructiou statns at this time, has <br />beeuoperated by the Buteau to provide: irrigation water on a rental <br />basis pending final compl~tion of the project.' , <br /> <br />
