Broadbent said the structure will be <br /> <br />built near Fruita, Colorado. Part of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control <br /> <br />Project, an extensive undertaking to improve water quality along the Colorado <br /> <br />River, the structure will remove moss, weeds, trash, and debris from the <br /> <br />existing Government Righ1ine Canal. <br /> <br />The structure will include traveling water screens, spray water pumps, a <br /> <br />trash rake, and a trash conveyor system, along with other features for the removal <br /> <br />of trash and debris. A spillway and settling basin will also be built, and 180 <br /> <br />feet of the canal will be lined with concrete. The work is scheduled for <br /> <br />completion on April 1, 1984, Broadbent said. <br /> <br />The low bid of $1,022,915 submitted by Avery Structures was well below the <br /> <br />Government estimate of $1,580,896. The Avery firm also participated as a prime <br /> <br />contractor and sub-contractor on the Bureau's Fryingpan-Arkansas Project in the <br /> <br />Lower Missouri Region and as contractor for the Emergency Escape Route at Morrow <br /> <br />Point Dam in Colorado. <br /> <br />The second and third low bids ranged between $1,090,000 and $1,151,000. <br /> <br />Eight firms bid on the contract. <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />]NT 2148-82 <br />... ...11.1...1 <br />
