Wyoming 82901 - Phone (307) ::62-5101 <br />79 Winston Drive <br /> <br />8 January 1985 <br /> <br />Honorable Ed Herschler, Governor <br />State of Wyonang <br />Oleyenne, Wyonang 82002 <br /> <br />Dear Governor Herschler: <br /> <br />On December 17, 1984 the Big Sarrly Conset-vation District invited personnel <br />from the Soil Conservation Service in Casper to rreet \,oith irrigated landowners of <br />the Eden Valley Irrigation Project at Farson to review and discu~s the SCS PI'eUm- <br />inary Evaluation report of an 'on-farm' Low Pressure Sprinkler Irrigation Proposal <br />as a rrethod of reducing salt-loading to the Color(1do River Systco frel~ that arC?a. <br /> <br />The SCS personnel were also asked to repcrt en the new Sc,lir.ity Control legis- <br />lation that was recently enacted into la\~. <br /> <br />In April of 1984 a questionnaire was sent to th~ irrigated landm;ners on the <br />Eden Project to determine if they would be interested in pursuing an 'on-farm' <br />rethcxl of reducing salt-loading of the Colorado River System I,lith 75 percent cost- <br />sharing for the installation of suitable irrigation systems.
