Street
Casper, WY 82601

Dear Mr. Dickson:

January 16, 1985

Several state agencies have reviewed the revised Preliminary
Evaluation Report for the "on farm" sprinkler proposal for the
Big Sandy River Unit and have advised me that it appears to be a
workable solution. Further, it is one of the few approaches that
would provide in-state benefits along with salinity reduction in
the Colorado River system. I would strongly urge your office to
pursue this proposal to the next logical step. Additionally, I
would hope that the SCS, the Bureau of Reclamation and the State
of Wyoming can continue to explore all other options to find a
solution to the salinity problems on the Big Sandy.

EH/wwt

.

\..1'.)11'..9
