<br />1999 ANNUAL REPORT <br /> <br />o This report provides an annual advisory and recommendations to the federal agencies concerning <br />00 <br />tv the Council's determination ofthe progress of the salinity control program and the need for specific <br />C,Zl <br />actions by involved federal agencies. The report is brief and does not contain a full description and <br />analysis of the salinity control program. For the reader who is not familiar with the salinity control <br />program, it is suggested that one refer to Quality of Water, Colorado River Basin, Progress Report <br />No. 19, January 1999, and the 1999 Review, Water Quality Standards for Salinity, Colorado River <br />System, June 1999 and Supplemental Report, October 1999. The first report can be obtained by <br />contacting David P. Barnett, the Executive Director for the Colorado River Basin <br />Salinity Control Forum, at (801) 292-4663,106 West 500 South, Suite 101, Bountiful, UT 84010. <br /> <br />The Council met in San Francisco, California on October 26 & 27, 1999. At that meeting, the <br />Council received reports from and made inquiries of the federal agencies involved in salinity control <br />and approved the budget recommendations contained in this report. The Council appreciates <br />receiving the written report provided by the federal agencies prior to the actual meeting. The <br />Council recognizes that this report is not required by any federal mandate and is provided to allow <br />a more complete discussion by the Council members at the meeting. The Council is concerned <br />however, that the report is not being fully reviewed prior to its release. The Council recommends <br />that the report be adequately reviewed prior to its release to ensure that the data provided is accurate <br />and that each agency provides adequate details about their programs to ensure complete discussion <br />of the issues.
