Re: Water Storage and Pumping

Dear Ron:

In accordance with your request of July 8th, followed by information in a
letter of July 15th from you, we offer the following information for your
consideration and for planning water storage at this time.

WATER STOAAGE

At the present time the City has three (3) water storage facilities serving
two distinct pr~ssure zones. In the low level zone there is a220, 000 gallon
elevated water tank adjacent to Wells One, Two, and Three located near
the Public Works Building, and a 1 MG ground level concrete reservoir
located north of Bromley Lane approximately 1500 feet east of the Brighton
lateral ditch. The third tank is a 3 MG ground level steel tank located just
south of Bridge Street on the high knoll across from the REA building and
was completed in 1971. This tank is fed from a booster station located ad-
jacent to the 1 MG concrete reservoir and serves the high level service area
which is gener~lly located east of the Brighton lateral ditch, generally in the
newly developing areas east of town.,

t !
~

Due to the limited storage in the low level system, namely the 1 MG concrete
reservoir and ~levated tank, a burden is placed on the booster station/ concrete
reservoir facility in that water can only be pumped to the 3 MG tank in the
high level zone during the times when there is sufficient water in the 1 MG
reservoir, which is the supply source for the pump station.
