<br />other reservoirs. <br /> <br />PARTICIPATING PROJECTS CONSTRUCTION STATUS <br /> <br />DOLORES PROJECT <br /> <br />Construction of Towaoc Canal Reach 3, Towaoc Laterals, Towaoc Canal Wasteway Channel, <br />McPhee Dam Spillway Repair and Towaoc Communication System was completed in 1994. <br />These contracts had a combined value of over $53 million. <br /> <br />A contract for $7.1 million was awarded in March of 1993 for construction of Montezuma Valley <br />Irrigation Company Canal Lining, a feature of the Colorado River Salinity Reduction Project. <br />The work includes constructing 5.4 miles of earth-lined canal and associated structures and <br />turnouts and replacing portions of an existing unlined irrigation canal. Construction continued <br />through 1994 and is scheduled for completion in April of 1995. <br /> <br />CENTRAL ur AH PROJECT <br /> <br />Bonneville Unit. Jordanelle Dam, a primary feature of the M&I system, is continuing to fill. <br />The amount of water stored in the reservoir on September 30,1994 was 81,227 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Work on the Sixth Water Aqueduct progressed ahead of schedule and was completed in late <br />1994 instead of the scheduled November 1995 completion date. The work consisted of <br />construction of approximately 3,350 linear feet of tunnel, 640 linear feet of vertical shaft and <br />4,400 feet of 81-inch-diameter steel pipeline and construction of a flow control structure. <br /> <br />Recreational development around Jordanelle Reservoir following the Jordanelle Master Plan is <br />continuing and is expected to be finished in the summer of 1995 with the completion of <br />Hailstone recreation site, the main campground complex at Jordanelle. <br /> <br />Vernal Unit. A contract for Steinaker Dam modification was awarded in 1993, and the work was <br />completed in the late fall of 1994. The modification included dynamic compaction at the toe of <br />the dam and placement of a berm so that the dam will better withstand an earthquake. <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />The Colorado River Storage Project Act of April 11 , 1956 (70 Stat. 105), states in Section 6 that <br />the Secretary of the Interior shall report to the Congress the status of revenues from, and the cost <br />of, constructing, operating, and maintaining the Colorado River Storage Project and the <br />participating projects.
