DeFalco: <br /> <br />"Presumably because I had been chairman of the Colorado River <br />Basin States conferees during the 'Conference in the Matter of <br />Pollution of the Interstate Haters of the Colorado River and Its <br />Tributaries in the States of California, ,Colorado, Utah, Arizona, <br />Nevada, Nevl r.1exico, and \Jyoming' a number of representatives of these <br />States urged that I assume the responsibility for organizing and <br />conducting a meeting for the purpose of discussing a number of <br />questions that have been generated relative to certain sections of <br />the Federal Uater Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972 (P.L. 92- <br />500). "lith the aid of r.tr. IvaI V. Goslin, Executive Director of the <br />Upper Colorado River Commission, such a meeting was organized. On <br />November 3-9, 1973 representatives of the water quality and water <br />resource interests of the seven Colorado River Basin States convened <br />in Denver, Colorado. Attachment 1 is a list of people in attendance. <br />(omitted) <br /> <br />"At. this session the States' representatives had before them <br />t.hree documents: <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />,,(~) 'Environmental Protection Agency (40 CFR Part 120) Title <br />L,O--Protection of Environment-- Colorado River System <br />Including All Tributary Streams--Proposed Hater Quality <br />Standards and Plan of Implementation for Salinity Control,' <br />,,[hich had been submitted to California by EP A's Region 9 <br />at a meeting in San Francisco on November 2, 1973. <br /> <br />"(2) 'Environmental Protection Agency (4.0 CFR Part 120) Title <br />I,.O--Protection of Environment--Colorado River System <br />Including All Tributary Streams--Proposed Requirements <br />and Procedures for Salinity Control,' which had been <br />submitted to several Upper Colorado River Basin St.ates <br />by EPA's Region 8 at a meeting in Denver on November 2, <br />1973. <br /> <br />"(3) 'Proposed Hater Quality Standards Revisions for the State <br />of Nevada to be Published in the Federal Register.' <br /> <br />- 20 - <br />
