Several important tributaries to the Eagle River, specifically Brush Creek and Gypsum Creek, are
overappropriated. Water right calls can occur on these streams throughout the year.

Reieases from either Green Mountain Reservoir or Wolford Mountain Reservoir can be used to " ::gment
Eagle River basin depletions to the main stem calling rights (Shoshone and Cameo). These ;eases
cannot replace depletions to any calling in-basin instream ftow or irrigation rights. As a result. . Volford
Mountain Reservoir should be viewed as a partial source of augmentation water, with supplemental in-
basin augmentation sources typically required for junior Eagle River users. Ruedi Reservoir releases are
of little value to water users in the basin because this reservoir cannot augment depletions at the
Shoshone Demand.

3.3.4 Colorado River Watershed above Dotsero
Water right calls from both Shoshone and Cameo affect this entire region. The portions of this region that
are most heavily developed (Summit County and upper Grand County) are in areas also subject to
extensive local water right calls. These calls originate from irrigation rights, from storage rights for
facilities such as Green Mountain and Dillon Reservoirs, from instream ftow rights, and from trans-basin
, diversion structures.

Local calls do not occur along the Coiorado River downstream of, Kremmling. In this region, release from
either Green Mountain Reservoir or Wolford Mountain Reservoir could' satisfy all augmentation
tequirements of junior water users. This conidor is less populated than the rest of the study region.

Releases from either Green Mountain Reservoir or Wolford Mountain, Reservoir can be used to augment
depletions to the mainstem calling rights (Shoshone and Cameo). However, these releases cannot
replace depletions to many, of the local calling water rights. Supplemental in-basin augmentation sources
are typically required for junior users, particularly in Summit County and in upper Grand County. Ruedi
Reservoir releases are of little value to water users in this area.

9
