, .

N
co
~
~

~

- .

Items 1-6 will be obtained from the Annual Reports of the Arkansas
River Compact Administration. Items 7 and 8 will come from U.S.
Weather Bureau Records. Individual ditch companies will be
consulted for item 9. Water Commissioner's field books will
provide item 10.

This is a rather opportune time to do this study for two
reasons: Pueblo Reservoir is under construction and the Bureau
of Reclamation and the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy
District are working on a plan for winter storage to benefit the
irrigators between Pueblo Reservoir and John Martin Reservoir.
Also. the Corps of Engineers has proposed that Kendall Reservoir
be built near Syracuse. Kansas to provide flood control and
irrigation storage. This would give irrigators a good bargaining
position should they desire to adopt such a plan.

-4-

.
