<br />Implementation of USDA's onfarm program has been delayed <br /> <br />pending resolution of the Reclamation off-farm salinity <br /> <br />studies. <br /> <br />o <br />~ h2~~~_Q~~~i~2~_~~~i~_Q~i! - rleclamation's planning re- <br />'-"J <br />o port and draft Environmental statement were filed on January <br /> <br />4, 1983. A final Environmental Impact Statement and Planning <br /> <br /> <br />Report is currently scheduled for early 1984. Basic data <br /> <br />collection on Stage II is underway. <br /> <br />Preconstruct ion planning was scheduled to begin in FY <br /> <br />1983 on the wInter water portion of Reclamation's plan but <br /> <br />was cut from the program because of budgetary restrictions. <br /> <br /> <br />This activity is rescheduled to begin in FY 1984. <br /> <br />The USDA Soil Conservation Service onfarm report is <br /> <br />compatible with and focuses upon the same priority salt load <br /> <br />problem areas on the east side of the Uncompahgre River, as <br /> <br />does Reclamation's plan. <br /> <br />Implementation of the onfarm <br /> <br />program is scheduled to begin in fiscal year 1986. <br /> <br />Uinta Basin Unit - Coordination between Reclamation and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />USDA has been maintained in the progress of this unit stUdy. <br /> <br />USDA continues to proceed with their onfarm implementation <br /> <br />program and is working on a number of canal and lateral <br /> <br />improvements. The majority of the canal and lateral improve- <br /> <br />ments needed in the basin are being accomplished through the <br /> <br />Central Utah Project. About 59 miles of canals and laterals <br /> <br />are proposed for rehabilitation under Reclamation's study. <br /> <br />Initial data collectIon for preconstruct ion planning was <br /> <br />scheduled to begin in fiscal year 1983 but was cut from the <br /> <br />-15., <br /> <br />1< <br />
