.

.

Cl
o
~
en
N
N
Agenda for the January 18, 1968 meeting of the Board of Directors.

January 3, 1968: Visited with a number of State Legislators on the occasion of the
convening of the 1968 Session, and also registered for the Annual Soil Conservation
District Convention in Denver.

January 4, 1968: Attended the morning and early afternoon sessions of the State Soil
Conservation District meetings in Denver, and also met with Legislators regarding
water matters which might be placed on the Governor's Call for legislative action.

January 5, 1968: Attended a regular meeting of the Advertising and Publicity Council,
Division of Commerce and Development, State of Colorado, where a wide variety of
advertising programs was discussed. Members of this Committee are representative
of the entire State of Colorado, and they have the responsibility of recommending to
the Division of Commerce and Development and ultimately to the State Legislature the
types of advertising which the State of Colorado will carryon during the coming year,
and the proposed Budget; That afternoon I met with representatives from the State
Legislature to again learn alII possibly could regarding proposed water legislation
which might be placed on the Governor's Call.

January 9, 1968: Attended Legislative meetings at the State Capitol Building, and met
with individual Legislators regarding item #30. involving water, on the Governor's Call.
It was determined during these meetings that a, formal Bill had not been drafted, but
State Senator Ted Gill expected to have it in form by Friday, January 12, the final day
for items to be put on the Governor's Call.

January 10, 1968: Spent most of the day visiting with members of the Colorado State
Legislature regarding water and other legislative matters. It seemed to be the con-
sensus of opinion among the Legislators 1 visited with, that Water Legislation during
the Short Session would be rather premature, in view of the fact a major water study
was being carried on under Senate Bill 407.

January 11, 1968: Attended the Four States Irrigation Council meeting at the U. S. Bur-
eau of Reclamation Center, and heard a number of Papers presented containing infor-
mation which will be of great service to the Conservancy District in our water manage-
ment activities. That evening 1 attended a meeting of the Citizens Advisory Committee
for the City of Pueblo to evaluate a variety of Federal programs which will be available
to municipalities in the Arkansas Valley.

January 15, 1968: Addressed a regular meeting of the Transportation Club and was
afforded the opportunity to give a report on the Conservancy District and the Fryingpan
Project. Members of this organization represent all of the transportation Companies
in the Arkansas Valley, and therefore the members are very much interested in activ-
ities which will affect the economic growth of the entire area.

-2-
