<br />one aspect of the study. such as water rights. the water rights <br />section of the report should provide a complete discussion of <br />the topic with appropriate references to information in other <br />chapters or in appendices. <br /> <br />Maps. drawings, graphs. and tables should be used to <br />augment the text of the report. Each planning study should <br />include. as a minimum. a base map of the study area at a <br />suitable scale to display locations of existing and proposed <br />facilities included in the study. <br /> <br />These guidelines are provided as rules of thumb for the <br />organization and style of written submittals for CWCB planning <br />studies. It is recognized that any rule is subject to <br />exception and that each person has a unique style of <br />writing. The application of generally accepted principles of <br />report writing and the use of these guidelines should result in <br />a final product in which both the study consultant and the CWCB <br />can take pride. <br /> <br />2. Report Organization <br /> <br />Each planning report should include the following items in <br />the order listed: <br /> <br />Title Page (Project name. month and year, prepared for <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />by ) <br /> <br />Certificate of Engineer <br />Executive Summary <br />Table of Contents <br />List of Tables <br />List of Figures <br />Acknowledgements <br />Introduction (Chapter I) <br />Individual Chapters <br />Glossary <br />References <br />Appendices <br /> <br />The Executive Summary should provide an overview of the <br />entire study. It should summarize the study process and the <br />major findings of the study and should serve as an independent <br />document. <br /> <br />Appendices should be used whenever large amounts of data <br />must be displayed or when lengthy, detailed explanations of <br />study procedures or analyses are required. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
