. .

II. DESCRI?TION OF !,1AJOR NORK TASKS

GENE~L
The major work tasks required for the successful completion
of the Cache la poudre Study, are presented in this section. A
bar chart for the major wo~k tasks is shown in Figure II-I. A
brief description of the major tasks for each phase is presented
below.

PHASE I: PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
The major tasks during this phase of the study will consist
of the collection and review of data, and will also include the
preparation of an overall management plan for the study. The
overall plan of study presented in this proposal will be expanded
to form the management plan for the actual study. T:.e tasks pre-
sented in this proposal will be refined into sub-tasks and the
flow chart, work schedule and manpower distribution will be pre-
sented in more detail. The management plan will be the basis for
management of the study, progress reporting and cost accounting.
Existing data relevant to the Cache la poudre Project will
be identified and assembled. Por more than 50 years, the Bureau
of Reclamation has studied the development of the water resou~ces
of the basin, and the Bureau will be the primary source of data
on identified potential facilities. The Bureau, U.S. Geological
Survey, and Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District will all
be sou~ces of hydrologic data; however, the Colorado Water Re-
sources Research Institute will be the prime source of data, since
they have already compiled or have available to them most of the
data required for use in the MODSIM model. Data on water uses
and economics will be obtained from potential water users such
as the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, the cities
of Fort Collins and Greeley, and appropriate Federal ,and state
agencies. Water rights information will be acquired from the
State of Colorado. The CWCB will be consulted to insure that all

.
