Plateau Creek joins the Colo- <br />rado R~ver in DeBeque Canyon 7 miles upstream from the Town <br />of Palisade and 51 miles upstream from the Colorado-Utah State <br />line. The principal subbasin streams drain the north slope <br />watershed of Grand Mesa at a maximum elevation of 10,500 feet. <br />A total of 99.4% of the subbasin is in Kesa County with the <br />balance of .6% being located in Garfield County. <br />Water Runoff <br />The average annual historic discharge of Plateau <br />Creek at its junction with the Colorado River near Cameo is <br />132,500 acre feet. The subbasin runoff is 4.6% of the his- <br />toric runoff of the river basin while the watershed area is <br />5.9% of the river bssin watershed area.
