Lyon Canal Co. the Board requested authority to conduct a <br />study which would consider the impacts of, and possible <br />alternatives to, such a large transfer of agricultural water in the <br />Arkansas valley. In section 11, of SB92-87 the General Assembly <br />stated. <br /> <br />liThe (Board) is hereby directed to undertake an analysis of <br />the alternative approaches to and the results of the transfer <br />of agricultural water supplies from the Ft. Lyon Canal Co. to <br />alternative uses. The (Board) is hereby authorized to expend <br />not more than $100,000 from the (Board) construction fund for <br />the purposes of performing the study and preparation of a <br />report thereon." <br /> <br />Desian of Study: <br /> <br />Based on the language of SB92-87 and the Board's discussion of <br />issues surrounding the Colorado Water Supply Co. offer a study <br />outline was developed by the staff.
