Complete wjth exception of control cables and <br />power to structures. Has been filled with Colorado River water <br />which is being pumped around Brady by portable pumps. <br /> <br />*,Picacho Pumping Plant. Structurally complete. Constructjon <br />of switchyard is underway, and installation of interior systems <br />continues. All 6 pumps have been installed. Two motors are set in <br />place, a third is on site but not yet installed. <br /> <br />* Reach 2 (16 miles of canal between Picacho and Red Rock <br />Pumping Plants) Complete except for installation of control cables <br />and permanent power to structures. Is being filled with Colorado <br />River water, which is being pumped around Picacho by portable <br />pumps. The water reached the Red Rock Pumpjng Plant forebay on <br />Apri 1 28. <br /> <br />* Red Rock Pumping Plant. Structurally complete. <br />Construction of switchyard and installation of interior systems <br />continues. All of the plant's 5 pumps have been installed, and two <br />motors are on site but not yet placed. <br /> <br />* Reach 3 (13.2 miles from Red Rock Pumpjng Plant to 1-10 <br />and Tangerine Road). Essentially complete except for control <br />cables and power to structures. Will be filled with Colorado River <br />water pumped around Red Rock as soon as Reach 2 filling is <br />complete, <br /> <br />* Reach 4 (14 miles from Reach 3 to Brawley Pumping Plant.) <br />Excavation of the canal prism is essentially complete, and <br />concrete lining began on April 24. Construction of the 8,600-foot <br />siphon/tunnel under Interstate 10 and the Santa Cruz River is well <br />underway; about 31 percent of the 700-foot long tunnel has been <br />excavated, and about 30 percent of the siphon pipe has been <br />placed. Twin Peaks and Sandario Pumping Plant sites are fully <br />excavated, and the contractor is on site and beginning initial <br />construction at Twin Peaks; work will begin at Sandario by the end <br />of this month. Excavation of Brawley Pumping Plant site js <br />essentially complete. <br /> <br />WATER OPERATIONS <br /> <br />Diversions and deliveries'of Colorado River water by the <br />project have been steadily increasing since February, when <br />operations resumed following a 3-month shutdown for repajr of a <br />section of the Granite Reef Aqueduct. <br /> <br />2 of 4 <br /> <br />,- <br />
