Safety of Dams (SOD) funding for <br />Stewart Mountain Dam in FY 87 is $2,5 million. <br />Through the first 7 months (October 1, 1986 to April 30, <br />1987) of FY 87, Reclamation has awarded 8 maJor contracts valued <br />at more ,han $57 million. An additional 17 contracts are scheduled <br />for award by the end of the fiscal year on September 30. <br />As of April 30, total expenditures for the CAP, including <br />all activities, had surpassed $1.6 billion. The prOject will be 53 <br />percent complete by the end of fiscal year 1987 (this excludes <br />Stewart Mountain Dam, which is bein9 funded under the Safety of <br />Dams Act: work at Stewart Mountain will be 16 percent complete by <br />the end of fiscal year 19B7), <br /> <br />A status report of major prOject activities follows. <br /> <br />;-~ <br /> <br /><;;) <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION <br /> <br />GRANITE REEF AQUEDUCT -- no construction: aqueduct is <br />complete and delivering water. <br /> <br />SALT-GILA AQUEDUCT -- Complete except for control cable <br />installation, which is 99 percent complete. Deliveries are being <br />made from this aqueduct also. <br /> <br />TUCSON AQUEDUCT -- The Tucson Aqueduct will consist of 6 <br />reaches of canal, plus the Tucson delivery system. Construction of <br />the aqueduct has progressed through the first 4 reaches of the <br />aqueduct; status of features, from north to south, is: <br /> <br />* Reach lA (4.9 miles of canal from end of Salt-Gila Aqueduct <br />to Brady Pumping Plant). Complete, except for control cables. <br />Reach is filled with Colorado River water, and is delivering water <br />to the Santa Rosa Canal, a multiple-user distribution facility. <br /> <br />* Brady Pumping Plant. Structurally complete. Construction <br />of switchYard is underway, and installation of interior systems <br />continues.
