<br />i;';' <br />. <br /> <br />o~,., " ') <br />" iJ 1 iJ ,) 4 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Basin Surveys <br /> <br />Preliminary field drafts of the main report and all appendices for the Upper Colo- <br /> <br />rado River and Great Basin Surveys have been published and distributed to local, state, <br /> <br />and other Federal agencies for review. Final reports and appendices are scheduled for <br /> <br />completion by June 1971. <br /> <br />Feasibility Investigations <br /> <br />Castle Creek Dam, a potential feature of the Basalt Project, has been dropped <br /> <br />from the plan of development because the overburden in the foundotion was found to <br /> <br />be deep and pervious. <br /> <br />Revisions of the Bluestone Project report are in progress ond we anticipate comple- <br /> <br />tion of the report later this year. <br /> <br />On the Grand Mesa Project, financial and economic data are being prepared. <br /> <br />Completion of the proposed feasibility report is anticipated. <br /> <br />Feasibility designs and estimates have been completed for Elko and Cement Creek <br /> <br />Dams, Paragon Canal and Gunnison Municipal and Domestic system features for the <br /> <br />Upper Gunnison Project. Completion of the proposed feasibility is now scheduled for <br /> <br />the latter part of this fiscal year. <br /> <br />ADVANCE PLANNING <br /> <br />A contract is being negotiated between the Colorado State University and the <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation to acquire and operate a research and demonstration farm in <br />southwestern Colorado. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />
