Public Service <br /> <br /> <br />Company of New Mexico has retained Stearns-Roger Engineers & Constructors <br /> <br /> <br />to prepare specifications for electrostatic precipitators to be installed <br /> <br />on its San Juan Plant. <br /> <br />the Bureau of Reclamation is beginning to prepare an Environmental <br /> <br />Impact Statement for these plants as soon as meetings can be arranged <br /> <br />with the companies to outline the data. <br /> <br />Huntington Plant <br />A contract among Emery Water Conservancy District, the United States, <br /> <br />and Utah Power & Light Company is being negotiated for cooling water to <br /> <br />be used in Huntington Canyon, Emery County, Utah, for 6,000 acre-feet <br /> <br />of project water per year. The first 430,OOO-kilowatt unit is scheduled <br />to be completed in 1974. More units may be added at some future date. <br />Removal of 99 1/2% of particulate matter is planned using precipitation <br /> <br />or scrubbers. <br /> <br />An Environmental Impact Statement is being prepared in the Regional <br /> <br />Office and will be sent to interested agencies in the field for comments <br /> <br />shortly. <br /> <br />Western Colorado Resources Study <br /> <br />A new thermal-electric plant, about l,150-mw in size, is proposed <br /> <br />for installation by summer 1976 in the area near Hayden, Colorado. <br /> <br />Participants in the study, namely, Public Service Company of Colorado, <br /> <br />Intermountain Consumers Power Assn., Tri-State r~neration & Transmission <br /> <br />Corp., Platte River Municipal Power Association, Colorado-Ute Electric <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />
