<br />SYNOPSIS <br /> <br />Comparison of Benefit s and Costs <br /> <br />Tangible benefits of the initial phase resulting from Federal <br />e:J(penditures would compare with the attendant Federal costs in a ratio <br />of 1.2 to 1.0. Both benefits and costs were estimated as annual equiv- <br />alents over a 100-year period, the anticipated minimum useful life of <br />the pro ject. <br /> <br />Tangible benefit s from the initial pha se are expected to have a <br />total annual value of $8,186,000. This value includes $5,473,000 that <br />would be realized as a direct result of the project and ~2,713,000 that <br />would be realized indirectly as a result of the project's stimulation <br />on business and industry. Numerous other benefit s not subj ect to effec- <br />tive evaluation in monetary terms would: result from the project.
