<br />C'J <br />0) <br />C',l <br />c) <br />.:-) <br />,.;::> <br /> <br />CHAPTER V <br /> <br />STAGE TWO PLAN OF DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />Stub Ditch Laterals <br /> <br />The 48 Stub Ditch laterals are diverted from the lO-mile-long Stub <br /> <br />Ditch which extends from Palisade to Grand Junction parallel to and above <br /> <br />the Government Highline Canal. <br /> <br />These laterals have a total length <br /> <br />of 7 miles and initial capacities ranging from 1 to 7 cfs. <br /> <br />They are <br /> <br />private development laterals and serve lands of the Mesa County Irriga- <br /> <br />tion District. <br /> <br />Price Ditch Laterals <br /> <br />The 9-mile Price Ditch extends west from Palisade to Grand Junction <br /> <br />parallel to and below the Government Highline Canal and serves 109 <br /> <br />laterals. These privately developed laterals have a total length of 58 <br /> <br />miles, have initial capacities ranging from 1 to 8 cfs, and serve lands <br /> <br />of the Palisade Irrigation District. <br /> <br />Grand Valley Canal System Laterals <br /> <br />The Grand Valley Canal system laterals serve lands south of and <br /> <br />below the Government Highline Canal. <br /> <br />All water for these laterals is <br /> <br />supplied through the Grand Valley Irrigation Company's Grand Valley Canal <br /> <br />which is diverted from the Colorado River near Palisade and then splits <br /> <br />into three canals at Grand Junction. These private development laterals <br /> <br />are divided as follows: <br /> <br />Grand Valley (includes Mesa County Ditch <br /> <br />laterals), Grand Valley Highline, Kiefer Extension, Grand Valley Main- <br /> <br />line, and Independent Ranchmen's Ditch. <br /> <br />Grand Valley laterals. --There are 71 laterals under the l2 .5-mi le <br /> <br />Grand Valley Canal, which extends from the Colorado River diversion at <br /> <br />Palisade to Grand Junction. <br /> <br />These laterals have a total length of 51 <br /> <br />miles and initial capacities ranging from 1 to 12 cfs.
