.

.

Inspection l~nd cl~ssification surveys indicate ~pproximntely
5,200 acres of irrigable land in Lamar County lying principally in 3 main
bodies. Methods of serving these areas would be similar to those described
on upper units.

I'le.ter Supplv

Although no studies have been made in connection with water requirE
ment, data available indicate the average annu~l ~pplication of irrigation
water might be from 0.5 to 0.7 acre-feet per acre. Minimum power releases
from Denison Dam are adequate to provide a sufficient supply.

Quality of water is apparently suitable for irrigation. Chemical
analyses are available for the period May 1, 1944, through September 30,
1949. Daily samples were taken during this period and were composited to
make a total of one hundred and thirty nine analyses. A study of these
analyses gavo the following results:

TOO Hardness
Total Non-CO 3
porn Gr/lm1 com Gr/ga1 porn Gr7gal
Average 713 41.7 291 17.0 178 10.4
Maximum 1430 84 522 31 389 23
Minimum 464 27 223 13 108 6

Cations Anions
Cn Mg NooK CO?
