<br />, . <br /> <br />Dal~tis Creek Project <br /> <br />Project Authorization and Planning Documentation: <br /> <br />Public Law and Date: The project was authroized for construction under <br /> <br /> <br />the Colorado River Basin Act (P.L. 90-537) of September 30, 1968, and as <br /> <br /> <br />a participating project under the Colorado River Storage Project Act <br /> <br />of April 11, 1956 (P.L, 84-485). <br /> <br />Environmental Impact Statement: The draft environmental statement was <br /> <br /> <br />filed with the Council on Environmental Quality on March 8, 1976. The <br /> <br /> <br />public hearing on the draft statement was held in Montrose, Colorado on <br /> <br /> <br />April 17, 1976, and the final statement was filed with the Council on <br />Environemtal Quality on September 28, 1976. <br /> <br />Definite Plan Report: The report was completed and printed in November 1976. <br /> <br />Location: The Dallas Creek Project is located in the Uncomphagre River <br /> <br />Valley of Western Colorado. The project area includes portions of Montrose, <br /> <br />Delta, and Ouray Counties and the towns of Delta, Olathe, Montrose, and <br /> <br /> <br />Ridgway, and ~he small rural community of Colona. The project is within <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado's 3rd Congressional District and is represented by Congressman <br /> <br /> <br />Frank Evans. <br />
