G. ECONOMICS:

The reduction in salinity levels achieved by treatment of

irrigated land causes economic effects to the users of the land.

These effects experienced by the landusers are an important

determinant. Therefore, estimation of on-farm economic effects is

one aspect of monitoring. Second, is to determine changes or

impacts, in monetary terms, from the implementation of the salinity

control program measures and their operations.

1. Conservation Impact Worksheets (CIW) are being filled out

on all existing contracts and all new contracts. This will enable

us to identify the changes that take place from the starting time

without treatment to the time when all treatments are completed.

Analysis of measured changes in production inputs and outputs will

be done to determine impacts on economic returns to land,

management, and family labor.

2. During the initial planning stages, the CIW will record

the base condition. At the end of each year, during the Status

Review, the planner will record the after assistance information

and correct any data where necessary.

H. SUMMARY OF HYDRO-SALINITY MONITORING , EVALUATION:

During the 1990 fiscal year, no usable data was collected.
Time was spent becoming familiar with the project area, ordering
001965
