5. Articles in the ASCS newsletter, the Salinity planners and
the Salinity technicians have been used to help with the location
and selection of possible monitoring sites.

6. One site was selected and installed last fall. Data was
collected and equipment was tested in preparation for the 1991
irrigation season. The data collected will be used in the
modification of the computer software for reducing that data.

7. Four sites will be installed this spring for a total of
five sites. Three sites will measure baseline data until such time
as improvements are installed. The other two sites will measure
data with improvements already installed. This data will be used
to help the IWM Specialist to the help the farmer with IWM. All
sites will correlate findings with FIRI and FURROW & CORRUGATION
IRRIGATION PROGRAM.
8. Data will be collected electronically in so far as
possible and processed by the computer and the M&E computer
programs.
9. At the present time, the software being used by the Grand
Junction M&E Team is not capable of reducing the data that will be
collected by the McElmo Creek M&E Team. The software will be
modified by the Team Leader so that the data collected during the
1991 irrigation season can be reduced for the next McElmo Creek
unit Annual Report.

001967
