<br />~', U WI i:: ~j :J <br /> <br />FUTURE WATER SUPPLY PROJECTS <br /> <br />The question of future projects to assure an adequate water supply for <br />the metropolitan area is the central focus of the System-wide Environ- <br />mental Impact Statement (EIS). Built into the EIS is a direct public <br />involvement process. <br /> <br />In October 1981, the OWD published a summary of projects which have <br />been under study, many for decades. The summary includes raw water <br />collection systems and storage projects with estimates of water sup- <br />ply to be derived from each, as well as estimated costs in 1980 dol- <br />l ars. <br /> <br />The EIS will examine these and other projects which have been suggested <br />in the course of development of the study. The public is urged to <br />participate actively in the Corps of Engineers' EIS process by present- <br />ing its comments and suggestions. <br /> <br />- 5 - <br />
