<br />,""'" <br />~ <br />00 <br />U interests in property as may be required in order to carry out the <br />o <br /> <br />c;:\ <br /> <br />purposes of this Section. <br /> <br />If the compensation to be paid for the <br /> <br />taking or acquisition of interests in property by a Contracting <br /> <br />District is to be paid or reimbursed by the United States, payment <br /> <br />thereof need not be submitted to a vote by the qualified voters of <br /> <br />such district. Similarly if payments required under contracts <br /> <br />made by a Contracting District for construction, improvement, <br /> <br />supplying of materials, operation or maintenance of facilities in <br /> <br />implementation of a Salinity Control Contract are required to be <br /> <br />paid or reimbursed by the United States, such contracts need not <br /> <br />be submitted to a vote of the qualified voters of the Contracting <br /> <br />District nor, except to the extent required by the Salinity <br /> <br />Control Contract, need such contracts be submitted for bids before <br /> <br />the execution thereof, any statute to the contrary notwithstand- <br /> <br />ing. <br /> <br />(4) If, and to the extent, title to property acquired by a <br /> <br />Contracting District is required to be transferred or conveyed to <br /> <br />the United States under a Salinity Control Contract, a Contracting <br /> <br />District shall have power and authority to make such transfers or <br /> <br />conveyances without the necessity of approval thereof by a vote of <br /> <br />the qualified voters of the said District. <br /> <br />(5) A Contracting District shall not be required to submit <br /> <br />to the state engineer or irrigation district commission a plan of <br /> <br />a project to be constructed or operated and mai:~tained under a <br /> <br />Salinity Control Contract, to supply other information concerning <br /> <br />the project to the state engineer or irrigation district <br /> <br />-21- <br />
