<br /> <br />00335Q <br /> <br />()C'J .C) <br /> <br />STATE OF COLORADO REPORT <br /> <br />Fourth Quarter - 1959 <br /> <br />PSIAC <br />by <br />COLORlillO vmTER CONSERVATION BOPu~D <br /> <br />The State of Colorado cooperated with the Geologi- <br />cal Survey in the installation of seven new gaging stations <br />"hich are required for feasibility investigations by the <br />Bureau of Reclamation on the lmimas-La Plata, San Miguel, <br />West Divide, Bostwick Park and Ohio Creek projects in the <br />Colorado River basin. <br /> <br />The state also contracted, through the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board, to furnish financial assistance in <br />the sum of $57,000 to accelerate the preparation of feasibil- <br />ity reports for the Jan Miguel project, and for the Bostwick <br />Park and Fruitland Mesa projects in the Gunnison River basin. <br /> <br />Through it's western Colorado office, the Water <br />Conservation Board made a preliminary investigation of the <br />possibility of irrigating lands in the Redlands Mesa area <br />near Paonia, through a potential canal from Leroux Creeko <br />Investigations were continued relative to present and poten- <br />tial water uses in the San Juan River basin in Colorado. <br /> <br />A study has been made for the State of Colorado <br />by Cameron and Jones, Inc., consulting engineers, of water <br />requirements for an oil shale industry in western Colorado <br />through the year 1975.
