The District's cost amounted to
~27,359,37 for the operating year ending May 31, 1961,

PO/N.T Sljstf'.1n- Ope/oath/}]

The District's pumping load required a total of 2,104,840,769
Iewhr during the operating year ending May 31, 1961, Hoover power
plant supplied 1,322.302,890 kwhr of this amount out of a total of
3,750,985,232 kwhI' or 90,9 per cent of firm energy availab]e to
Hoover allottees, The Hoover firm energy included 3,740.624,000
kwhr generated at Hoover power plant and 10,361,232 kwhr of in-
terchange energy delivered from the Parker-Davis system, Another
250,847,552 kwhI' of the District's energy requirements were de-
livered from Parker power plant as the District's portion of Parleer
energy making a total of 1,573.150,442 kwhI' of hydro energy de-
I'vered during the operating ,vear or enough to pump approximately
760,000 acre-feet of Colorado River water into and through the
aqueduct, The energy availab]e at Parker power plant from July 1,
I 960, to June 30, 1961. and at Hoover power plant from ,June 1,
I960. to May 31, 1961, is summarized in Table 12,

The remaining 531,690,327 kwhI' required for the District's
pumping load was electric energy purchased from the Southern
California Edison Company, Since the District's pumping load re-
quired more generating capacity than is presently availab]e to the
District from Hoover and Parker power plants, 146,720,036 kwhr
of this purchased energy were delivered during on-peak hours to
supply this additional generating capacity, The remaining 384,970,-
291 kwhr were delivered during off-peak hours. In addition, the
Southern California Edison Company provided the District with
