<br />0024~7 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MONTHLY REPORT <br />TO THE <br />COLORADO RIVER BOARD OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />June 17.2002 <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />Governor's Appointment of New Board Members <br /> <br />On May 22, 2002, Governor Gray Davis appointed two new members to the Colorado River <br />Board of California (Board), Mr. D, Bart Fisher replaces the Board's late Chairman, Mr, Virgil <br />Jones, as the representative of the Palo Verde Irrigation District (PVID), Mr. Gerald A, Gewe was <br />appointed to the Board, replacing Mr. S, David Freeman, as the representative ofthe Los Angeles <br />Department of Water and Power (LADWP), Additionally, the Governor appointed alternates to <br />these agencies, Mr. Charles H. Van Dyke will serve as the alternate to Ihe Board for PVID, Mr. <br />James B. McDaniel will serve as the alternate Board member for LADWP, The press release from <br />the Governor's office is included in the Board folder under Tab 3, <br /> <br />Resignation of Ms, Malissa Hathawav McKeith from the Board <br /> <br />I received notification on June 11,2002, of the intent ofMs, Malissa H, McKeith to resign <br />her position with the Board effective August 2002, Malissa has indicated that she will be focusing <br />her efforts on water issues along the United States/Mexico border on the Rio Grande, I would like <br />to note that Malissa has served on the Board for five years with distinction, Malissa has taken a keen <br />interest in the development of California's Colorado River Water Use Plan as well as the many <br />Colorado River Basin environmental issues involving the Board. I would like to take the opportunity <br />to thank Malissa for her service to the Board and the State of California, and I know that you will <br />join me in wishing her the best in her future endeavors. I have included Malissa's letter of <br />resignation under Tab 3 in the Board folder. <br /> <br />Approval of Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Budget for the Colorado River Board <br /> <br />Under Tab 4, in the Board folder, I have included the proposed Fiscal Year 2002-2003 budget <br />forthe Colorado River Board of California. The proposed budget amount of $ 1,133,000,00 for FY <br />2002-2003 is unchanged from that for FY 2001-2002. There is a $4,280,00 increase requested for <br />the Colorado River Salinity Control Forum Support line item, from that requested last fiscal year. <br />I would like to point out that the cost-sharing ratio between the State of California and the Six <br />Agencies is unchanged from last year (i,e" 21.2% and 78.8%, respectively), [respectfully request <br />that the Board approve the proposed FY 2002-2003 budget for the Colorado River Board of <br />California. <br />
