Ap~ointment of an ,Assistant to the Commissioner for <br /> <br />Ecology to oversee Reclamation's ecological and envi- <br /> <br />ronmental responsibilities and to maintain liaison <br /> <br />with Federal and State agencies and other organiza- <br /> <br />tions as appropriate to these responsibilities. <br /> <br />2. Execution of an agreement with TVA to utilize its ex- <br /> <br />pertise in a consulting capacity to Reclamation in <br /> <br />the review of equipment design and installation. <br /> <br />3. Close cooperation with the Air Pollution Control Of- <br /> <br />fice and the Water Quality Office of EPA in assisting <br /> <br />these agencies in their areas of responsibility and <br /> <br />keeping them currently informed of the status of <br /> <br />Reclamation's environmental concerns. <br /> <br />4. Appointment of an Environmental Specialist on the <br /> <br />Regional Director's staff. This individual will be <br /> <br />aware of activities that have probable environmental <br /> <br />impacts and will make investigations leading to recom- <br /> <br />mendations for Reclamation involvement illld action to <br /> <br />preserve and enhance environmental values. He will <br /> <br />keep abreast of technological developments in the <br /> <br />field of pollution control and perform other duties to <br /> <br />assist in fulfilling Reclamation's environmental re- <br /> <br />s~onsibilities. <br /> <br />5. Review of equipment design for the Huntington Canyon <br /> <br />Plant in conjunction with APCO, WQA, and TVA consul- <br /> <br />tants, and Bureau of Reclamation and other experts <br /> <br />43 <br />
