7

0910

Turquoise Lake

Fish releases are to be maintained at 10 c.f.s. for october,
3 c.f,s. for November through April, or natural flow below the
reservoir, whichever is less, Irrigation releases are estimated

to be sufficient for fish flow during the irrigation season.

The Operating Plan for the 1970 Water Year

Three detailed monthly operation studies have been made which

simulate the proposed operation of Ruedi Reservoir and Turquoise

Lake. Two of the studies simulate operations with extremely high or
extremely low water supply conditions, Reservoir inflow in 1970 has
a l-in-lO chance of being less than the reasonable minimum and a

l-in-10 chance of being greater than reasonable maximum. Therefore,

actual operations in 1970 have an 8-in-10 chance of falling within

the limits of the extreme studies. The third study simulates opera-

tions with most probable water supply conditions.

In preparing the operation studies, it was intended to provide the

necessary flexibility to change from one set of conditions to
another. The ever-changing situation regarding inflows, downstream

requirement, etc., will require many adjustments, Operation schedules

will be adjusted as required, Forecasts of the April through July
reservoir inflow will be started on March 1, 1970, and continue on the

first of each succeeding month through July 1.
