<br />N <br />~ <br />o <br />N <br /> <br />proposed advanced waste treatment (AWT) plant led to a defer- <br />ment of construction of the salinity control unit in August <br />1978. Recently, a consent decree was issued in the matter of <br />the AWT plant. The decree resulted in the establishment of <br />effluent limitations for Las Vegas Wash which are to remain <br />in effect until a study is completed. The AWT plant is under <br />construction and about 75 percent complete. The Bureau of <br />Reclamation has undertaken a study to re-evaluate the hydro- <br />salinity system in the wash area of the Las Vegas Valley. A <br /> <br />technical advisory committee has been formed which includes <br /> <br />members of the Forum Work Group, <br />Funding appropriations for F.Y, 1979 was $6,916,000, <br /> <br />parts of which were transferred to other portions of the <br /> <br /> <br />salinity control program and carried over to F.Y. 1980. <br /> <br /> <br />Funding in the amount of $573,000 has been appropriated for <br /> <br /> <br />F.Y. 1980 for studies and reformulation of the salinity <br /> <br />control unit. <br /> <br />Water Quality Improvement Program - Subsequent to the <br /> <br /> <br />1978 Revision of the water quality standards, the Bureau of <br /> <br /> <br />Reclamation revised its scheduled completion dates for feasi- <br /> <br />bility reports on the units identified in P.L. 93-320 or <br />their equivalents. The following table compares the esti- <br />mated completion dates presented in the 1978 Revision and <br />the most CUY'rent Bureau schedule. <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />:-1-..,,}j; <br />
