diversions averaged 420,000 acre-feet annually. Ground water at the upstream
end of the study area contains about 900 milligrams per litre of dissolved
solids. At Iliff, Colo., the ground water on the north .side of the river has
increased in dissolved-solids concentration to about 4,000 milligrams per litre.
This increase in dissolved-solids concentration is the result of recycling water
resulting from many applications of water for irrigation.
