Also, the <br /> <br />annual maintenance program of the bank stabilization and navigation projects <br /> <br />on the main stem of the Missouri River was continued. A continuing mainte- <br /> <br />nance program, as required to maintain maximum operation of the six mainstem <br /> <br />dams, was carried on. These foregoing programs are funded annually as needed. <br /> <br />Investigations <br /> <br />Continued support by the Corps was given during fiscal year 1971 to the <br /> <br />Comprehensive Basin study of the Missouri River Basin sponsored by the Missouri <br /> <br />Basin Inter-Agency Committee. The Corps will continue in this study in future <br /> <br />fiscal years to complete and/or up-date the study as needed. Type II studies, <br /> <br />as programmed in the future, as recommended by the Comprehensive Basin study, <br /> <br />will be supported by the Corps. <br /> <br />During fiscal year, 1971, the Corps carried on an investigation program in <br /> <br /> <br />the following areas, as needed.
