<br />'~ <br /> <br />Construction of the Fairbury, Nebraska, small flood control project under <br /> <br />Section 205, 1962 Flood Control Act, was completed during fiscal year 1971. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Hillsdale Dam and Lake project continued in the preconstruct ion planning <br /> <br />phase in fiscal year 1971. Completion of planning is scheduled for fiscal <br /> <br />year 1972. <br /> <br />Osage River Basin <br /> <br />Acquisition of reservoir area lands and construction of embankment, spillway <br /> <br />and outlet works continued during fiscal year 1971 on the Melvern Dam and <br /> <br />Lake project in Kansas. During fiscal year 1972 construction will continue <br /> <br />on the embankment, 'spillway and outlet works 'and construction of relocations, <br /> <br />interior road,; initiated late' in fiscal year 1971. Construction and land <br /> <br />acquisition will continue in fiscal'year 1973. 'Closure of the dam was accom- <br /> <br />plished in fiscal year 1971. <br /> <br />The Fort Scott Dam and Lake project continued in preconstruction planning <br /> <br />phase in fiscal year 1971. <br /> <br />The local flood control project at Osawatomie, Kansas, was completed in <br /> <br />3~i3 <br /> <br />fiscal year 1971. <br /> <br />Land acquisition, relocations and construction of the dam and power plant <br /> <br />and fabrication of turbines at the Harry S. Truman Dam and Reservoir was <br /> <br />carried on during fiscal year 1971. Acquisition of land, and construction <br /> <br />will continue during fiscal years 1972 and 1973. <br /> <br />Stockton Dam and Lake continued under construction during fiscal year 1971. <br /> <br />Activity during this fiscal year being the construction of the power plant <br />L <br />and recreation facilities. Construction is scheduled to be completed in <br /> <br />fiscal year 1972. 6 <br />
