<br />Kansas River Basin <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />The Perry Darn and Lake project was essentially completed during fiscal year <br /> <br /> <br />1971. Land acquisition for the Clinton Darn and Lake continued during fiscal <br /> <br /> <br />year 1971 and will continue thru fiscal years 1972 and 1973. Construction <br /> <br /> <br />'is anticipated to begin in fiscal year 1972 and continue in fiscal year 1973. <br /> <br />Preconstruction planning was continued in fiscal year 1971 on the Grove Darn <br /> <br />and Lake project. Planning will continue during fiscal years 1972 and 1973. <br /> <br />Construction of the Topeka, Kansas, local flood control project continued in <br /> <br />fiscal year 1971. Completion of this project is scheduled for fiscal year <br />1972. <br /> <br />The Lawrence, Kansas, local flood control project continued under construction, <br /> <br />during fiscal year 1971. Construction advanced on the levees and channel <br /> <br />improvement along the Kansas ,River. Construction will continue in this area <br /> <br />along the bridge alterations in fiscal year 1972. Completion of the project <br />is currently scheduled for fiscal year 1973. <br /> <br />3224 <br /> <br />Construction is scheduled to start late in fiscal year 1971 on the Hays, <br /> <br />Kansas, local flood control project. Preconstruction planning was completed <br /> <br />in fiscal year 1971. During fiscal years 1972 and 1973, construction will <br /> <br />continue. <br /> <br />During fiscal year 1971, preconstruction planning continued. Planning will <br />continue during the next two fiscal years. <br /> <br />The Kansas City, Kansas, (1962 modification) local flood control project is <br />scheduled to be under construction late in fiscal year 1971 and will continue <br /> <br />under construction during fiscal years 1972 and 1973. <br /> <br />5 <br />
