I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

O'Q'02g3

At the request of CRWCD, the Pot Hook Project configurations as defined in the

USBR Definite Plan Report will be used in this study. Of the total 60,000 AF, only

26,000 AF will be considered as active storage. Since the reservoir capacity exceeds the

permitted capacity, Pot Hook Reservoir will be modeled under the June 5, 1959 priority

date only. A minimum storage amount of 34,000 AF (dead and inactive storage) will be

assumed in the Pot Hook Project modeling. This minimum storage level was proposed

in the USBR Definite Plan Report, and is required to provide the desired water surface

elevation diversions to Pot Hook Canal and it will increase recreation benefits. Additional

input data needs include a reservoir area-capacity relationship, Area-capacity curves, as

developed by USBR, will be used in the modeling.

Project demands to be modeled include storage and direct flow diversions by the

Pot Hook Canal, Two Bar Canal, and the Boone and Deer Lodge Laterals. As with the

Water Development Baseline, irrigation demands will be set at the full appropriation

amounts for the months May through September of each year. There are two separate

rights for Pot Hook Canal as shown on Table 1, page 6. The first right, dated June 5,

1959, is for 260 cfs, The second is an enlargement right of 400 cfs, dated April 19, 1966.

In the Definite Plan Report, the USBR stated that the initial capacity of Pot Hook Canal

would be 290 cfs. So that demands do not exceed canal capacity, Pot Hook Canal

demands will consist of 260 cfs (priority date of June 5, 1959) and 30 cfs (priority date of
April 19, 1966),

25
