.

.

.

QueQtQ~~:

HOW CAN NARROWS WATER BE USED TO RECHARGE THE AQUIFER IF MOST WATER USERS
(NARROWS) ARE UNDER A REPLACEMENT ARRANGEMENT? WHAT IMPACT WILL A REPLACE-
MENT PROGRAM WITH NARROWS WATER HAVE ON EXISTING CANALS AND OTHER WELLS?

Answer 4:

Narrows water would be used under Plans for Augmentation to replace consumptive
USe and related depletion. Additionally, it is expected that the C.W.C.8. would
assist in the preparation of a water resources strategy to insure prudent and
optimized use of the Narrows water in harmony, and conjunctively, with existing
water rights.

A replacement program must, by law, not adversely effect existing canals and
other wells. We believe that this can be achieved via water resource planning.

Other wells not protected by water rights senior to June 14, 1897 face a dim
future.
