Position MRBP, December 1963. The 1963 report was the basis for

establishment of the present Eastern Division MRB-F5 rate schedule.

The Eastern Division has marketed P-S MBP firm power under three basic

rate schedules since the adoption of the MRB-Fl rate schedule as of

April I, 1950. This schedule was superseded by the MRB-F4 rate schedule

on April I, 1954. There was no change in the basic rate. The area of

availability was expanded to include central and eastern Montana, and

the minimum charge was changed from a monthly minimum to a minimum

annual capacity charge. As a result of the 1962 Average Rate and

Repayment Study and the 1963 financial report (noted in the previous

paragraph), the MRB-F5 rate schedule was adopted effective with the

September 1965 billing period after consultation with Eastern Division

power customers. These rate schedules are summarized below.

Essentially the same charge for firm power was made from 1949 until

1965 (16 years). Then the rate was increased about 5 percent and

has been in effect for over 7 years. All Eastern Division firm

power is now sold under the MRB-F5 rate schedule.
