'-' ~ <br /> <br />32 <br /> <br />Section IV <br />The Post Congressional Period 1962- <br /> <br />The ~'ryin,;p!ln-Ark[\nsas Project was approved and signed <br />by President Kennedy on August 16, 'lnd upon the urging of Frank <br /> <br />Hoae; Jr. the President decided to COlnO to Pueblo and make !l. <br /> <br />presentation and speak upon his reclamation and water development <br />103 <br />programs and on August 17, 1962, the President came to Pueblo <br />on behalf of the Pryingpan-Arkansas Project. <br />Now that the Project was authorized it seemed that the <br /> <br />work was just beginning. <br />Project, however, until a <br /> <br />No construction could begin on the <br />1 O!~ <br />Repayment Contract was drawn up. <br /> <br />:! <br /> <br />The formation of this Repayment Contract took almost two years <br /> <br /> <br />and was approved on January 21, 1965.
