Action of the Board might vary from simply sharing the <br /> <br />information prepared with other interested parties in the basin to <br /> <br />taking a definite position and following up with decision makers to <br /> <br />support the position taken by the Association. The number of issues <br /> <br />addressed each year would depend upon the number of issues that were <br /> <br />relevant to the Association's interest and the resources available for <br /> <br />staff support. <br /> <br />POSITION STATEMENTS AND ADVOCACY <br /> <br />Total for Function <br />Staff Time(Person-Months): 8 <br />Estimated Annual Cost($1000): 52 <br /> <br />Develop Position Statements and Conduct an Advocacy Program <br /> <br />The Association work program for fiscal year 1982 includes a <br /> <br />program for (1) determining a procedure for arriving at a position <br /> <br />statement, (2) determining a procedure for advocating positions, and <br /> <br />(3) reviewing topics for possible position statements. The continuing <br /> <br />program would utilize the procedures developed in fiscal year 1982 to <br /> <br />develop position statements on important interstate/regional water <br /> <br />related issues and topics in the basin and carry through with an <br /> <br />advocacy program to support the positions taken. <br />
