Workshops to

explain the system and demonstrate its capabilities through case studies

would be useful in making sure that those organizations and individuals

within the basin would have an opportunity to utilize the system to its

full capability.

Staff(P-M): 4
Cost($lOOO): 26

Conduct Workshops on Flood Plain Study Findings

The Lower/Middle Missouri River Flood Plain Study being completed

by October 1932 should culminate with a proposal for compatible manage-

ment of the flood plain among the five states in the lower Missouri

River drainage area. To insure that all State and local groups with

interests or responsibility for flood plain management along the river

are aware of the results of the multi-state study, it would be useful to

conduct a series of workshops to provide information on and urge

implementation of a compatible flood plain management strategy.

Staff(P-M): 3
Cost($lOOO): 20

Develop and Sponsor Selected Training Programs

The Association could fill a need for regional training on new

programs, such as the program that will b~ conducted in fiscal year 1982

to train State and local agency representatives to conduct water conservation
