<br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />October 1998 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of <br />October was computed to be 315 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table <br />3. There were -214 AF net San Juan-Chama (SJ-C) losses, as shown <br />in Table 2. There was 28 AF diverted through Azotea Tunnel this <br />month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 147 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron. <br />There was a total of 12,227 AF of SJ-C water released from <br />Heron,of which 2280 were delivered to the MiddlB Rio Grande <br />Conservancy District (MRGCD)Pool in El Vado, as part of their <br />1998 Heron allocation; 3047 AF were purchased by USSR from the <br />City of Santa Fe and released for Middle Rio Grande water <br />management; 400 AF were purchased by USSR from the Village of Los <br />Lunas and released for Middle Rio Grande water management; and <br />6500 AF was released from the Jicarilla Apache pool for Middle <br />Rio Grande water management. <br /> <br />A total of 1768 AF of SJ-C water was released from El Vado. Of <br />this amount, 100 AF was purchased by USSR from the Village of Los <br />Lunas and transferred into temporary storage in Abiquiu for use <br />in Middle Rio Grande water management during 1999; and 1668 AF <br />were purchased by USSR from the City of Santa Fe and transferred <br />into temporary storage in Abiquiu for use in Middle Rio Grande <br />water management during 1999. <br /> <br />A total of 891 acre-feet (AF) of SJ-C water was released from the <br />MRGCD pool in Abiquiu in response to irrigation demands. <br /> <br />There was 3.56 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir, which <br />is 250% of the October (running) average of 1.42 inches. The <br />monthly computations for Heron Reservoir are summarized in Tables <br />1-3. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 453 <br />AF. There were 10.1 AF of losses on the reservoir. Table 4 <br />summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at <br />Abiquiu and Jemez Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are <br />presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and evaporation of Rio Grande <br />water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data <br />are collected and analyzed. <br />
