<br />001071 <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />(b) The Corporation, insofar as practioable, shall consult and cooperate <br />wi th the States and with publio and cooperative agencies in the making of <br />studies, the colleoting of information and data, and the development of plans <br />for carrying out the purposes of this Act. The corporation mAY make available <br />to the departments and agencies of the United States and to the States and the <br />people thereof, and to public and cooperative agencies, suoh information, <br />studies, and reconunandations as i't d.eeme necessll.ry or appropria'te, and suoh <br />other information and studies and suoh reoollllllElooations for state legislation, <br />as the Corporation deems advisable to aid in carrying out the purposes of <br />this Act. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />SEC. 9. (a) Ths Corporation shall, not later than October 15 of eaoh <br />year, submit to the President plans for the construction and undertaking, <br />during the succeeding governmental fisoal year, of projeots and aotivities for <br />or inoidental to the promotion of navigation. the control aId prevention of <br />floods, the safeguarding of navigable watsrs, and the reclllIllation of the <br />publio lands (all as more partioularly described in the provisions of section <br />10), and suoh further plans for integrated regional developnents as the <br />Corporation fioos neoessary or appropriate in the national public interest for <br />the oonservation and prudent husbandry of the water, soil, mineral, and forest <br />resources of the Nation, including the prevention of irreparable waste of the <br />Nation's resources from droughts, winds, dust storms, and soil erosion, and <br />the oontrol and retardation of water run-off and the restoration and improve- <br />ment of the absorption and infiltration oapaoity of the soil. Suoh plans <br />shall indicate the order of preference and priority of the projects and <br />activities. <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />(b) If the President, after such study and investigation as he shall <br />require by the Director of the Budget and such other departlll6nts and agenoies <br />of the United States as the President deems advisable, approves such plans, <br />or any of them or any part thereof, as necessary or desirable in carrying out <br />the purposes of this Act, the President shall refer such plans to the Congress <br />with his recol!llllendations. The President may at any time request the Corpor- <br />ation to submit to him, for referenoe to the Congress, plans for such projeots <br />or activities as in his jud~ent may be neoessary or desirable in oarrying out <br />the purposes of this Act; and the Corporation, as soon as praotioable, shall <br />submit such plans to the President. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />SEC. 10. (a) Plans submitted to the President by the Corporation <br />pursuant to section 6 shall include suoh projeots and activities, and such <br />recol!llllendations for the construotion and undertaking thereof, as the Corpor- <br />ation finds adapted to the conservation and integrated developnent of water, <br />soil, and forest resources for the following purposes: <br /> <br />-9- <br />
